CoSHH Cabinets

CoSHH Cabinets

CoSHH cabinets provide a suitable method of safely storing hazardous substances within the workplace. Ideally where ever possible a hazardous substance should be replaced with a safer substitute. If this is not feasible then using a variation of CoSHH cabinet depending on the substance to be stored will ensure you comply with CoSHH regulations. Storing a CoSHH controlled substance in a clearly marked and visible hazardous substanceCoSHH storage cupboard will allow better protection, give greater control over access to the substance and allow better regulation over their use.

Purpose of a CoSHH Cabinet

The main objective of a CoSHH cabinet of this type is to, in the event of a fire or incident allow people to escape the area safely. These cabinets will provide a physical barrier which will delay the contents from becoming involved in a fire and to limit or inhibit the passage of gasses or flame for a sufficient period of time to allow people to escape the area safely and allow the emergency procedures to be implemented.

In order for the cabinet to be able to achieve these requirements our cabinets are manufactured from materials with a 30 minute fire integrity, which in the case of our product is steel. Further design elements incorporated within our cabinets in order to meet these requirements are as follows:- The cabinet joints between the door and cabinet frame be as small as reasonably possible and there is an overlap between the door and the frame of the cabinet so there is no access into the cabinet when the door is closed. The supports and locking system are manufactured from materials that can withstand temperatures of 750 Deg c and if not are protected from within the inside of the cabinet by materials which can.
